Nursing rescheduling problem with multiple rescheduling methods under uncertainty

Abstract The nursing rescheduling problem is a challenging decision-making task in hospitals. However, this needs to be made stochastic setting meet uncertain demand with insufficient historical data or inaccurate forecasting methods. In study, programming model and distributionally robust are developed for the nurse multiple methods under demands. We show that these models can reformulated into an integer program. To illustrate applicability validity of proposed model, study case conducted on three joint hospitals Chengdu, Chongzhou, Guanghan, Sichuan Province. results reduce cost by 78.71% 38.92%, respectively. also evaluate benefit against perform sensitivity analysis important parameters derive some meaningful managerial insights.
